North Haven Primary School

Physical Education

A healthy and active lifestyle is promoted at North Haven School, through our Physical Education program. Each week classes have one 45-minute P.E lesson with a specialist teacher.

During P.E lessons, students learn to work as a team, specific sport skills/rules, coordination and build a love for a healthy lifestyle. Students also have the opportunity to explore a range of sports that they may wish to pursue further outside of school and we offer them pathways and links to local sporting clubs. North Haven School is included in the North West Junior Soccer Association (NWJSA), with teams ranging from Under 6 to Under 13ís.

To support the P.E program, students have opportunities to participate and compete in SAPSASA events (Athletics, Swimming, Soccer, Netball, Cross Country etc.), R-5 Swimming lessons, Year 6/7 Aquatics, Camp, sports clinics and lunchtime fitness activities in the Gym.

We are also participants in the Sporting Schools program and offer a range of FREE sports clinics both during school time and after school. Sports offered have included Soccer, Netball, Basketball, Tennis, AFL, and Orienteering.

Please feel free to come and see our P.E teacher, Matt Tylor on Mondays to Wednesdays (in the Gym) if you would like any additional information about getting your child involved in Sport and leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
